The Hurst Water Meadow Trust owns about 25 acres of meadow surrounding the village and manages it on behalf of the local community. It provides a valuable wildlife corridor along the banks of the river Thame. The variety of wild flowers, trees and shrubs provide nectar for important pollinating insects. Birds, mammals, insects and reptiles find food and shelter along the banks and in wild areas. The meadows were of historical importance locally providing grazing, fishing and raw material harvesting for baskets and eel traps. The Trust is also involved in educational activities for the local community and beyond.  You can learn more about The Hurst here
