Family Dog Show – Saturday 29th April 11am

The Dorchester Festival dog show is fun day out for all the family and your dog held in the beautiful grounds of Dorchester Abbey.

Grand Opening and Tower Abseil – Saturday 29th April 12noon

Brave volunteers (including many Oxfordshire and village familiar faces!) will abseil down the 100 foot Abbey tower to raise money for the Festival charities – Dorchester Abbey and Sue Ryder, Nettlebed.
Come and cheer them on!

Tentertainment! with Nick Cope – Sunday 30th April 12.30pm

Rain or shine, roll up for fabulous entertainment for all ages.  Lunch, tea and amazing cakes available while children are entertained for the whole afternoon.

Dorchester Duck Race – Sunday 30th April 5pm

Buy a duck to launch down the river from the Hurst Water Meadow to a nail biting finish next to the Abbey. Prizes for the first three ducks home!

May Morning Breakfast – Bank Holiday Monday 1st May 8.30am

Continuing the annual tradition Dorchester’s a capella group will welcome May in by singing from the Abbey tower and then in the Abbey.

Festival Charity Fun Run – Bank Holiday Monday 1st May 11am

Take part in the hugely popular 5k Fun Run (or walk). Enjoy the amazing scenery of a run through the historic water meadow and alongside the river and raise money for Sue Ryder Nettlebed Hospice by getting sponsorship. Bring the whole family – you can even bring the dog!

Science Shows with Science Oxford – Bank Holiday Monday 1st May 1pm & 3pm

Science Oxford produce two amazing one hour science shows that will have you on the edge of your seat! These workshops are part of our Science Mad! afternoon for kids, with workshops completely free – read more about it here.

Throughout this Science Mad! afternoon there will be lots of science experiments for all ages in the Festival Tent and in the Abbey

Vintage Pedal Cars – Bank Holiday Monday 1st May 1pm – 4.30pm

Come and drive around our Abbey on these amazing metal pedal and ride-on cars – Bugatii 1930’s racers, emergency vehicles with flashing lights, sirens, bells and tow hooks, even a classic Fergusson tractor and trailer and Deauville touring car!
