This event is FREE!  But it’s useful to know how many people are coming – please book a free ticket.

In this fun, interactive session for children of all ages, local author Evelyn Crosskey will help you discover your inspiration to devise a story of your own. Explore your senses and come on a creative journey to start planning your own book!

Evelyn will share the process she went through to create the newly released children’s adventure book, “The Guardians of The Wittenham Clumps”. This story takes us through the Oxfordshire landscape and immerses us in the folklore and magic of its ancient sites. The characters discover their own courage and a deep connection with the Earth.  The book will appeal to all children. The message of kindness and always finding value in others resonates with the challenges of growing up in the multi-media, war-torn world of today.  The book is illustrated by Imogen Ives, who was born and lived in Dorchester for many years as did her Grandmother, Yvonne Freebody.

This is a relaxed session for all ages!  Parents – get a coffee from the Tea Room and enjoy the surroundings of the Rectory garden.  There will be an opportunity to purchase the book at the end of the session.

There will be a BBQ in the Cloister Garden from 12noon and Tentertainment starts at 12.30.  Do stay and party!
