An exhibition of artworks, including some responding to the locality of Dorchester Abbey, with the narrative of being ‘placed’ – recognised, safe, known & grounded.
Tim and Mary are running Breathe – a reflective art workshop day on Wednesday 8th May at the Abbey.
Tim Steward trained in classical drawing and painting in London and divides his time between North Cornwall and Oxford. His work has always focused on specific places for lengthy periods, working both on the street and in the landscape. This outdoor working is significant to his seeing and feeling the subject and in connecting with a place. These places are often connection points and places of spiritual nourishment, including Oxford, Cornwall, Bath, Florence & Rome.
Mary Chamberlain works using charcoal, ink and pastel on paper and mixed media on sealed canvases. Her work involves and evokes movement, exploring the fracturing and separation of line and form as well as the composition of marks on paper / canvas to create a sense of movement in and for the viewer.
20% of the sales from this exhibition will go towards Festival charities
